How they are prepared

Each vial is autoclaved, then sealed: a butyl stopper is fitted and an aluminium flip-off cap crimped on, so the vials arrive ready to fill with no further preparation.

Type I borosilicate glass

Type I borosilicate is the most chemically resistant grade of laboratory glass. It copes well with changes in temperature and releases very little into the solution it holds.

Are the vials ready to fill?

Yes. Each vial is autoclaved, then sealed with a butyl stopper fitted and an aluminium flip-off cap crimped on.

Are they sterile?

They are autoclaved and sealed. We call them sealed rather than sterile because they are not sold with a sterility certificate.

What is Type I borosilicate glass?

The most chemically resistant grade of laboratory glass. It copes well with changes in temperature and releases very little into the solution it holds.

What does the flip-off cap do?

The plastic top flips off to expose the stopper, while the aluminium ring stays crimped around the neck and holds the stopper in place.

What is the difference between a pack and the vial kit?

Packs arrive sealed and ready to fill. The vial kit has vials, stoppers and caps supplied loose, for labs that crimp their own.

Returns and refunds

Sealed, unopened items can be returned within 14 days for a refund. Opened sterile products cannot be resold and are not returnable unless faulty. Damaged in transit: photo within 48 hours, replacement sent.
