About Lab reagents
This range covers our two diluents: bacteriostatic water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, and 0.6% acetic acid. Both come in sealed 10 ml borosilicate vials with a butyl stopper and an aluminium flip-off cap, and every label carries a lot number, an expiry date and a QR code that opens the product page.
The caps are colour-coded so the two are never confused on the bench: blue for bacteriostatic water, red for acetic acid.
Bacteriostatic water comes in packs of 1, 10 and 50, and unlabelled in packs of 50, 100 and 200 for labs that apply their own labels. Purified and deionised water in 5 L and 25 L drums is joining the range.
Everything is held in UK stock. Orders placed before 3pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same working day.
For laboratory use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What counts as a lab reagent?
A reagent is any substance used in the lab to prepare, dilute or test other materials. Our range covers two diluents: bacteriostatic water and 0.6% acetic acid.
How do I tell the two apart?
By the cap. Bacteriostatic water has a blue flip-off cap and acetic acid a red one, and each label names the contents.
How should I store them?
Keep sealed vials between 2 and 25 °C. Keep bacteriostatic water away from light, and discard a vial 28 days after its stopper is first pierced.
Does every vial have a lot number and expiry date?
Yes. Each label shows the lot number and expiry date, and its QR code opens the product page.
Can I buy in bulk?
Bacteriostatic water comes in packs of 10 and 50, or unlabelled in packs of 50, 100 and 200 for labs that apply their own labels.
Who can buy from Labdrop?
Our reagents are sold for laboratory use only. They are not for human or veterinary use.
